When I noticed that December 1 was the last post on here, and when I considered today's date (January 15, 2017), part of me kind of had to laugh. The time between December 1 and the last week or so has, of course, been the height of Christmas season (followed by some "immediately-after-Christmas-clean-up" time in the week or so after the new year).
There was a time when I would have done some actual "real work"; but since I slowed down on, and eventually stopped, taking (or even looking for) work/projects from someone else (which has been quite awhile now), the only thing left is the big mix of stuff that I've done under the heading of "online writing in my spare time". (All the stuff that this blog essentially, or ultimately, focuses on and that either has or hasn't been part of my "mini-part-time job" of doing one or another kind of writing online and under my own name (or at least my own pen-name).
In any case, I've had no particular need to see any of this stuff as a big emergency. So, while I've done a little thing here or two during the Christmas period it's either been some minor "side" thing that may or may not end up, or be, online somewhere; or else it's something that isn't (and never will be) online at all.
Separate from any actual writing, I've just got a giant load of computer files (whether images, writing, or whatever else) to clean out or reorganize and/or make yet more copies of to keep somewhere other than "some cloud" or "some site". Not everything is worth storing on either (or even worth the time and space involved in keeping back-ups to back-ups on a "zillion" different external storage things - but at least some of it needs to be sorted out and organized before I know what is and what is not worth saving (or worth saving but not really caring much about where it's saved).
So, if you throw the whole Christmas-season thing into the mix it's easy enough to see where this blog has been on my priorities list.
On this sunny but super-cold Sunday afternoon I thought it might be time to pay a little attention to some of "whatever" is associated with this blog. Then, too, one must make a little time for watching giant turkeys walk up the street. I don't know.... There's nothing new about wild turkeys, and there are certainly plenty of them around here. Still, I just like watching a row of them make their way up the suburban street.
As for me, I'm getting away from this page and going looking for what else to organize, delete, or add somewhere.....
